Half Dome Appoints New Head of Operations

Half Dome managing partner Tom Frazer has announced the appointment of Catherine Smith, formerly head of product for Dentsu’s Amnet, to the newly created role of head of operations.

Smith (main photo) has 15 years of industry experience which she brings to Half Dome to improve processes and the agency’s overall output.

Most recently, Smith was a senior account executive at Amazon and prior to that, held leadership roles at Amnet including head of product and general manager, guiding the company through its infancy and growth.

An experienced leader, Smith has a particular interest in managing teams through times of change. Half Dome co-managing partner and head of growth, Joe Frazer worked closely with Smith at Amnet for more than five years.

Half Dome, co-managing partner and general manager, Tom Frazer, said.“Cath brings a wealth of experience to the role at a time when we are growing exponentially and need to be productive and efficient in our teams to be the best that we can be,”

“Bringing in someone of Cath’s calibre highlights Half Dome’s intention to create an outstanding organisation committed to success.

“We anticipate a big 12 months at Half Dome, especially since we acquired Consumedia, so we’re excited about the possibilities Cath will explore and the doors she will open.”

Smith said: ‘This is an exciting time for Half Dome, with an abundance of opportunity to build market presence and provide quality customer service coupled with the ability to look after the health and wellbeing of the team.

“I hope to be a lens on the whole business and to oversee it from a macro perspective to ensure the teams we have in place work in solidarity towards a common goal.

Half Dome has already increased its employee count by 75 per cent this year and continues to maintain a staff turnover rate significantly lower than the industry average of 27 per cent.

Smith’s appointment is effective immediately.
