Google and YouTube has stepped onto the court, signing on as foundation partners of the Women’s Basketball League (WNBL). This marks another major milestone in the league’s continued rise under its new era.
The partnership between Google and the WNBL includes Google Search, YouTube, Pixel, and Gemini.
Through this new partnership, Google and YouTube demonstrate a commitment to supporting the WNBL’s expansion. It is designed to amplify the league’s reach and elevate it’s standing, contributing directly to the continued development of women’s sport in Australia.
WNBL CEO Jennie Sager said the partnership reflects the elite level of the WNBL athletes while reinforcing the local and global growth of the women’s game.
“Having a global leader like Google join the WNBL family is another strong signal of confidence in the WNBL and its future. Together, we’ll continue to build a platform that not only showcases world-class athletes but also inspires the next generation of fans and players,” she said.
Suzana Ristevski, Google Australia country marketing manager said the partnership builds on the growing momentum of women’s basketball.
“Women’s basketball continues to deliver feats of sporting excellence and ignite global fan passion. The WNBL is the engine driving this momentum locally. Google and YouTube are proud to partner with the WNBL for the 2025/26 season and help fuel the next era of the sport.”
