Chris Freel.

MiQ’s chief revenue officer Chris Freel will depart the business in Q4 of 2026, B&T can reveal.

Freel said he is stepping down from the global programmatic services and technology partner to spend more quality time with family.

He’ll remain in the role over the coming weeks to ensure a seamless transition and continued service across the business.

Speaking to B&T, Freel said his time at MiQ “has been an extraordinary journey”.

“I am immensely proud of what our teams achieve together, the innovation we consistently deliver, and the deep partnerships we forge across the market. After an incredibly rewarding chapter, the time is now right for me to step back and hand over the reins. MiQ is in a fantastic position, and I look forward to working closely with our talented team over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition,” he said.

Freel joined MiQ at the beginning of May 2025 from oOh!media where he was the group sales director. Prior to the he was the CEO of UnLtd.

On Freel’s departure, Paul Moreton, chief operating officer, JAPAC of MiQ said: “Chris has been an integral member of our team, supporting a period of growth, building new partnerships, and cultivating an exceptional commercial team.

“We are grateful for his dedication, and contributions. While we will miss his energy, we support his decision to prioritize more time with his family, enjoy an extended summer break, and we wish him all the very best in his next adventure.”

Freel’s departure follows that of well-known and liked adtech leader Fiona Roberts, who stepped down from her role as MiQ’s managing director ANZ after eight years.

MiQ’s leadership team remains fully in place, ensuring business continuity, strategic development, and ongoing service for clients and partners. Supported by an established bench of regional and global leadership, MiQ continues to build on its market position and momentum powered by its proprietary technology platform, Sigma.

Sigma brings together the data, intelligence and AI capabilities marketers need to navigate an increasingly fragmented media landscape. By connecting audience signals across what people are watching, browsing and buying, Sigma helps clients of MiQ make faster, more confident decisions and deliver more effective outcomes.
