Well-known adtech leader Fiona Roberts has stepped down from her role as MiQ’s managing director ANZ.
Roberts has led MiQ’s Australian New Zealand operations since joining the business in 2018, overseeing the company’s local growth, technology expansion and relationships across the digital advertising ecosystem.
In 2022 she was promoted from commercial director to ANZ managing director, and has since held that role.
The leadership change marks a significant moment for MiQ’s Australian business, with the company positioning the transition as part of its next phase of growth across the region.
Roberts said she was proud of what she had achieved during her time at MiQ, particularly the team and customer partnerships built over the past eight years.
“My time at MiQ has been marked by achievements I am very proud of, not the least being the world-class team that I leave to take on their next phase of growth under new leadership and the deep partnerships built with our customers over the years,” Roberts said.
“Within a dynamic industry, MiQ remains an exciting and constantly innovative business, and I look forward to witnessing their future success.”
MiQ global president Richard Dunmall said the company is now on the hunt for a new leader.
“Our priority is finding an exceptional leader who understands the unique dynamics of the ANZ landscape and can accelerate our growth trajectory,” Dunmall said. “We are deeply grateful to Fiona for her foundational work. She has successfully localised Sigma, our AI-powered technology, nurtured a brilliant local team, and built an incredibly strong business.”
MiQ said its existing ANZ leadership team would remain in place during the search process to ensure continuity for clients and partners.
The local leadership team currently consists of chief revenue officer Chris Freel, general manager – sales NSW, Queensland and New Zealand Hannah Cooper, general manager – sales Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia Paul Bates, national commercial strategist Madison Wappett, and head of product and analytics Vishal Shah.
Paul Moreton, MiQ’s chief operating officer for JAPAC, will step in to assist with ANZ operations while the hunt for a new CEO continues.
“Our intent is to further position MiQ ANZ as a global incubator of innovation,” Moreton said. “I look forward to partnering closely with our superb local talent and valued clients across Australia and New Zealand while we onboard our new, dedicated ANZ CEO.”
