Creative agency Floodlight has expanded into New Zealand opening an office in Christchurch.
It currently has offices in Melbourne and Adelaide.
To mark the occasion, the local marketing community gathered for a ‘Confession Session’. Attendees were invited to write down their most diabolical marketing sins, shred them, then blast them out of confetti cannons.
Atrocities absolved on the night included: “Saying in a meeting I’d circle back, only to never circle back.”
“Exclusively using stock photos where everyone was pointing at a laptop.”
“Tinkering with domain records that caused a half-day global outage.”
Floodlight’s mission is to help brands be more memorable in meaningful ways.
“Christchurch has serious energy right now. It’s outpacing New Zealand’s average economic growth and the businesses are ambitious, they just need the creative firepower to match,” said managing director Justin Counihan.
Filmmakers Henry Williamson and Josh Edmonds will lead operations in Christchurch, headquartered at BIG SKY Studio. They will be supported by Floodlight’s Melbourne and Adelaide studios, with plans to grow.
“Henry and Josh are class operators, and they’ll have the full support and backing of our Australian operations. We had a great response to our launch last night and we’re keen to get stuck in and support this thriving city.” Counihan added.
