First Promo For Caitlyn Jenner’s E! Show ‘I Am Cait’

E! has capitalised on Caitlyn Jenner’s transition by producing eight one-hour episodes of I Am Cait, another reality show added to the kardashian Empire.

The Jenner story has been a ratings bonaza for E! and the Kardashian/Jenner family, as well as highlighting important transgender issues. If the social media coverage is any indication, the July 26th premiere of I Am Cait will probably also be a huge hit.

According to Neilsen, the Diane Sawyer’s 20/20: Bruce Jenner – The Interview delivered 17.1 million viewers and a 5.2 in the adults 18-49 demo, it was that week’s most-watched and highest-rated TV program in the US.

In May, “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” ran a two-part “About Bruce” special about the family’s reaction to Jenner’s gender transition. The two part episodes averaged 2.74 million viewers.

In other Jenner news, Comedy Centrals’ Jon Stewart has picked apart the US media’s coverage of the Vanity Fair cover. Stewart criticised how the media focused only on her looks and welcomed Jenner to what it’s like being a woman in the media’s eye.

It’s a social media bonanza! The cynic might say that it’s just making more money for the Kardashians. But it’s also putting transgender issues into the media spotlight in a big way.
