Coles Gets Five Stars For Its Meat And Seafood

Canstar was so impressed with the retail giant’s pork, chicken, lamb and seafood that it awarded each a top five-star rating at this years’ Most Satisfied Customer Awards 2022.

As part of the award process, financial comparison site Canstar asked several thousand Aussies to rate Cole’s chicken, pork, lamb, fish, and seafood against a set of criteria including overall satisfaction, taste and freshness.

Value for money was also rated, with consumers commending Coles on its affordability at a time when Aussies are looking for more value than ever before with rising cost of living pressures.

Coles chicken wings, chicken sausages and the household staple roast chicken collected top gongs in the poultry category, while lamb chops, lamb mince, pork chops and pork mince won across lamb and pork categories.

The accolade comes after Coles brought home the bacon as the best-rated supermarket for Christmas ham, receiving five-star reviews for taste, freshness and overall satisfaction at the Canstar Supermarket Awards 2021.

Coles Executive General Manager of Fresh Andy Mossop said Coles is proud to receive such positive reviews and lead the way in overall satisfaction from customers. “We are proud to work with some of the country’s best Aussie farmers and fisheries to provide our customers with great quality, innovation and value in our fresh meat and seafood range,” he said.

“We understand the rising cost of living is top of mind for consumers this holiday season, so we are proud to offer great value for money across our range of meat and seafood, without compromising on taste and quality.”

All Cole’s own brand chicken is 100 percent Australian and raised on RSPCA Approved farms, while Cole’s own brand fresh pork is sow stall-free and free from artificial growth promotants, a first for an Australian supermarket.

Seafood and fish at Coles is responsibly sourced, with Coles holding the MSC Best Sustainable Seafood Supermarket Award title for five years running since 2017.
