B&T has asked last year’s ’30 Under 30′ winners how being a 2014 finalist changed their life and how their trophy has helped further their career.
And if you want to nominate yourself or a colleague for this year’s awards then you need to be very quick – entries close midnight tonight!
Benjamin Hallam, group account director for Ogilvy & Mather Australia, won for the advertising/design category. Hallam leads Ogilvy’s largest Coca-Cola team in Asia Pacific.
For Hallam, the awards “gives you internal recognition and more opportunity. I felt pressure (a good pressure) was put on me after winning because people expect a lot from you and from your work. It certainly has kept me on my toes!”
Kae Yen Wong, one of the winners in the digital category, won for his work as a copyrighter for Host Sydney said: “Being a 30 Under 30 winner has definitely helped my career. It opened up more opportunities, and connected me to new people.”
Earlier this year, Kae Yen Wong has moved from his copyrighting job in Sydney to work as a senior creative role at eBay in San Francisco.
“I’ve wanted to live and work in San Francisco for a long time, so it was really exciting when eBay offered me a job,” said Wong.
Grant Rose, a winner in the marketing/PR category, won for his work as chief commercial officer for the Sydney Swans. He was responsible for the Corporate Sales and Partnership Servicing, Marketing, Events, Hospitality, Community and Operations divisions of the business.
Winning ’30 Under 30′ was not just a nice thing to mention in professional conversations, but the “networking opportunities with other finalists and industry people, is something I am very grateful for”.
Rose now runs his own business, Nexus Brand and Partnership Strategy, specialising in the connection fans, and ultimately consumers, have with brands via sporting and entertainment platforms.
Tessa Wood, winner in the Specialist category, won for her work as content and partnership director for Mediacom Beyond Advertising. For Wood, the award helped her get “recognition within the agency and industry has been great”.
Jacqui Stenmark, group account manager at Multi Channel Network (MCN), won within the media category. Stenmark said that the “recognition within MCN for achieving this award has been really amazing.”
Are you or someone you work with equally deserving of being called one of B&T’s ’30 Under 30’ for 2015? If so, you need to enter yourself or them here and pronto!
