Trust has become an increasingly precious commodity in our lives, according to the annual survey of Australia’s most trusted brands from Australian Reader’s Digest, which has shown that Aussies love and trust a range of brands such as Weber, Bunnings, Dyson and Dettol.
In 2016, Guide Dogs remain at the head of the pack as our most trusted charity, while Hills Hoist has cleared a load of famous names to be our most iconic brand, and Dyson has cleaned up as the overall number one most trusted brand in the land.
The commissioned, independent poll involved a cross-section of 2,400 Australians and conducted by Catalyst Research, with the results published exclusively in Australian Reader’s Digest.
The survey has revealed Australia’s most trusted brands across 65 categories.
We like to sizzle our snags on a Weber and you can’t beat a Four’N Twenty pie. Toyota has again topped the car category, and we prefer it to have Bridgestone tyres. We feel confident floating around on a P&O cruise, we reach for Vanish Napisan to remove stains, and Bunnings has won our faith in the retailing sector.
If we have to do the vacuuming we want a Dyson in our hands. And when it comes to pure indulgence, we’ll reach for some Peter’s ice-cream or Cadbury chocolate, possibly after we’ve enjoyed a nice beverage – either a cup of Lipton tea or a Corona beer.
“Trust is essential and hard earned, sometimes across generations, and can translate to all-important profits and jobs,” said managing editor, Louise Waterson.
“The rise of social media, and its ability to take word-of-mouth endorsements to a whole new audience, has also introduced an interesting new dynamic to the importance of keeping customers happy. Many of the more successful companies are certainly pro-active in this area.”
