Tonic Communications has appointed Amelia Oberhardt as media and communications director.
Oberhardt will work across Tonic’s expanding client roster, including recently secured Queensland-based accounts. Tonic currently operates out of Sydney and Auckland, with Oberhardt’s appointment and Brisbane presence further strengthening its footprint across ANZ.
Oberhardt joins Tonic from Subway, where she was most recently public relations & corporate social responsibility manager AU and NZ. She brings more than two decades of experience across radio, television, podcasting, public relations and event management to the newly-created role.
Tonic Communications managing director Georgia Coleman said Oberhardt’s appointment marks an exciting step in the agency’s continued expansion across Australia: “Amelia’s someone I’ve known and respected for a long time. She’s sharp, connected, and just gets what it takes to cut through in a meaningful way,
“With so much content being created, and AI only accelerating that, the real value now is knowing what’s worth saying, and how to make it land. That’s exactly what Amelia brings.” Coleman added.
Oberhardt said: “What stood out to me about Tonic is the way the team approaches earned PR – it’s thoughtful, considered, and focused on what will actually make an impact. I’m looking forward to building on that and continuing to grow the agency’s presence here in Queensland,”
Tonic launched in 2024 and is part of Attivo, a marketing services group with agencies in Australia, New Zealand and the US.
