Channel Nine’s new series Shark! made an impressive debut on last night, with a total TV national reach of 1,687,000 million and a total TV national average audience of 628,000.
Guided by shark experts, the series follows Australia’s most followed influencer, Tammy Hembrow, media personality and beloved Block host Scott Cam, Olympic swimmer Ariarne Titmus, hollywood actor Matt Nable, Australian actress Lynne McGranger and ex-NRL player Sam Thaiday as they try to transform fear into fascination, beginning with a bull shark cage dive.
Titmus, whose mental fortitude has carried her to Olympic gold, found herself in unfamiliar territory, struggling with panic. The olympic swimmer had to fight back tears before entering the water. McGranger served as the emotional anchor of the group. The rest of the cast grappled with their own anxieties, each taking their first steps towards understanding shark behaviour, rather than fearing it.
