Prophet, a commercial mix modelling platform, has appointed experienced talent acquisition leader Bec Geyer as its new head of talent and people.
In the newly created role, Geyer will be responsible for scaling Prophet’s talent and people capability, while also focusing on securing new starters. She will report to Prophet CEO, Jordan Taylor-Bartels.
One of her first tasks will be to fill several roles across the business, amid significant growth across its decision science, machine-learning, engineering and development teams.
Geyer brings more than 15 years’ experience in talent acquisition across APAC, the UK and the US to Prophet, specialising in hiring for start-ups, scale-ups and tech companies.
As founder and principal talent lead of Roundabout Group, she worked with clients such as Carsales, realestate.com.au, AKQA, Clemenger, Medtasker, Performio and 2XU, building the digital and technology talent foundations needed to support rapid growth and scale.
Geyer has also held senior talent acquisition roles within some of Australia’s most innovative companies, including travel planning site, Rome2Rio, security company, Stax and AI-CX transformation platform, Cyara.
“Prophet is at a stage where the quality of our people and the clarity of our systems will define our trajectory. Bec brings sharp judgement, humanity and a real ability to introduce structure without losing speed,” said Taylor-Bartels.
“Her role will be critical as we continue to scale with discipline and ensure every person who joins Prophet can do the best work of their career.”
“I joined Prophet because it’s rare to find a company that’s innovating at such a high level, while staying so grounded in its people. This role at Prophet offers an incredible opportunity to build something special. I’m excited to shape a hiring experience that feels engaging, transparent, and human in a place where authenticity really matters,” commented Geyer on her appointment.
Her appointment follows the announcement earlier this week of Google Cloud executive Phil Davis to Prophet’s advisory board, joining Columbia University Professor Andrew Gelman.
Geyer’s appointment is effective immediately.
