NOVA Entertainment has partnered with one of Melbourne’s most respected charity events, the 85th Good Friday Appeal. Nova 100 and smoothfm 91.5 will officially support the Good Friday Appeal, with both stations providing on-air support and active involvement in key fundraising activities.

Louise Higgins, NOVA Entertainment COO said: “We are delighted to be involved with the Good Friday Appeal. This appeal holds a special place in our listener’s hearts and our on air teams and staff can’t wait to support the fundraising efforts for one of Victoria’s most important institutions, the Royal Children’s Hospital.”

Anne Randall, Good Friday Appeal director said: “I am so excited that NOVA Entertainment has joined the Good Friday Appeal team. It’s already proving to be a great partnership because it allows us to involve a much broader audience in supporting the great work of the hospital and will also encourage the community to continue to give generously.”

Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny breakfast show will hold a special outside broadcast on Good Friday. Chrissie Swan, Sam Pang and Jonathan Brown will broadcast live from the Royal Children’s Hospital from 7am to 9am on 25 March.

Nova 100 will also support Run for the Kids in one of the station’s biggest activations. In the lead up to the event, Jonathan Brown, Sam Pang and anchor Deano are inviting listeners to join Team Browny and run alongside them on Sunday 20 March; while Nova 100’s City Selfie Zone, will allow runners to capture the moment they reach the top of the Bolte Bridge. In addition Nova will broadcast the official Run for the Kids Playlist, 100 minutes of commercial free hits and messages of motivation from athletes and celebrities from 7.30am on Nova 100.

smoothfm 91.5’s More Music Breakfast Show will run a two week promotion to highlight their listeners’ fundraising events and efforts. smoothfm’s announcers will attend the Good Friday Appeal’s Kids Day Out, the station will run hourly news bulletins highlighting the tally throughout the day and smoothfm will run special programs, featuring a number of high profile personalities, on the day.

smoothfm 91.5 and Nova 100 will also be part of the Kids Day Out, an event presented by the City of Melbourne, held on Friday 25 March from 10am. Entry is free with participation by gold coin donation. The Melbourne Convention Centre at South Wharf will be transformed into a wonderland for children. Nova 100’s Chrissie, Sam & Browny’s Ice Cream Truck will be located on site to allow guests to enjoy a2 Ice Cream while smoothfm will create a family relaxation and entertainment precinct on-site.

Nova 100 and smoothfm will also implement a number of internal fundraising activities in the lead up to Good Friday to allow staff to show their support for this special appeal.
