Mutinex’s global chief revenue officer Danny Bass has left the business and US lead John Sintras has returned to Australia amid a shake up of the software company’s leadership team.
Bass, the former leader of Dentsu Media and IPG Mediabrands, joined the business last July and will continue working until the end of September.
“Danny has done a great job building and developing our sales function as chief revenue officer. It is now time for us to focus more of our resources on the US market,” Mutinex co-founder and global CEO Henry Innis said in a LinkedIn post.
Bass told B&T that he was grateful for his time at Mutinex.
”I’ve had a wonderful 14 months and learned a lot about MMM and the future of marketing. It’s a great business and I wish Henry and the team every success,” he said.
Mark Tovbis, who has been with the business for four and a half years, steps up as interim commercial director and will report to Shane Treeves, who has been promoted from chief of staff to chief operating officer.
Tovbis will be charged with leading the sales operation in Australia.
On Treeves’ promotion, Innis said: “I’m confident that Shane is the right person for this role based on the impact he has had since joining the business – which has been overwhelmingly positive. In his new role, Shane will look after our Customer-facing teams including Marketing Science, Model Quality, MDAs, Business Development, Sales, and Marketing.”
Internal promotions
Mutinex has made a series of internal promotions to long-serving staff, restructuring its leadership team.
Will Marks will head up Mutinex’s model quality and marketing data teams and Nicky Barton, the current marketing science director, will take on the responsibility of leading the marketing science team.
Barbara Ramirez (head of people and culture) and Nik Zavordogny (head of engineering) have joined the senior leadership team.
In the data science space, Alexiy Charamanko has moved into its model foundry team and will be focused on a new R&D team.
Innis said that team will mostly work on new, novel models to solve problems outside of the MMM space.
“Mutinex has always been and will always be a business deeply invested in R&D and Alexiy’s move represents our commitment to this area,” Innis said.
Joseph Kang steps up to lead Mutinex’s model scale team, having been with Mutinex for a number of years and “proven himself in stints in New York on key accounts”.
Jamee James, another long-serving Mutinexer, steps up from associate product manager to product manager.
After six months as interim head of product, Peter Photinos has become formal head of product.
US changes
John Sintras, who has been pivotal in growing Mutinex’s US operations, will remain at the company but has returned home to be closer to his family.
Mutinex has hired Rich Perez from Nielsen as a growth leader in the US market. He brings more than a decade of MMM experience, having worked as a marketer for Novartis Consumer Health and Nestle before taking on senior roles at marketing analytics companies Keen Decision Systems and Nielsen, where he led its MMM practice.
The engineering team in the US has been bolstered by Dan Ivanov, who leads the company’s DataOS product.
The US is a fast growing market for Mutinex, with the marketing mixed modelling company winning contracts for Olapex, Turo and a number of clients in QSR, retail, telecommunications and education.
Innis spends a lot of his time in New York and views the US as a huge growth opportunity.
