Monday TV Wrap: Australian Story Gets More Eyeballs Than Kath & Kim’s 20th Anniversary Special

Last night saw Australian Story solve the mystery of who is the Somerton Man. In fact, the special got more views than Seven’s Kath & Kim special. Do Australian’s care more about solving the crime than two horndogs?

Seven got over the line for a Monday night win; the network is scoring 30.7 per cent of all of last night’s eyeballs (all channels). Nine was second with a neat 25.9 per cent, ABC took third with 18.9 per cent, 10 did 13.5 per cent, and SBS had to settle with 11.0 per cent.

According to Oztam’s reports, Seven’s 6 pm news was the most-watched evening show and posted 932,000. Nine’s bulletin had 926, and ACA did 633,000 – Grimshaw has two more shows to go, and I’m a crying mess.

Nine’s Your Mum, My Dad, grabbed 391,000 viewers – more people need to tune in to admire Kate’s outfits.

Meanwhile, Seven’s Kath & Kim’s 20 Prepostrious Years pulled in 504,000 eyeballs – looking back at the not-so-glamoure days of these women is one of my favourite things.

The ABC’s 7 pm news did 667,000, and 7.30 did 565,000. Four Corners had 306,000, and Media Watch posted 513,000. Australian Story scored 570,000 viewers – the mystery of the Somerton Man really got viewers hooked.

10’s best was The Project (284,000), 10’s News First (256,000)

Other standouts for Seven included The Chase (489,000) and Home And Away (494,000). Nine’s Hot Seat did 329,000. Seven’s Mrs Brown Boys (341,000).
