Marketing studio Moda has been appointed to lead the marketing strategy and campaign development for Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport, following a competitive tender process.
Led by founder and director Danelle Ayers, Moda will work closely with the Pullman Auckland Airport team and Accor to drive brand positioning, demand generation and commercial performance for the airport hotel.
Ayers said the appointment reflects Moda’s experience in the hotel sector and its ability to connect strong brand thinking with real commercial outcomes.
“We’re thrilled to be partnering with the Pullman Auckland Airport team on this next phase of growth,” said Ayers. “This is an exceptional property with a clear ambition to redefine what an airport hotel can be—not just a place of convenience, but a considered part of the journey.”
Moda’s appointment follows a rigorous two-stage selection process involving multiple agencies, with the Moda team recognised for their specialist hotel expertise and commercially focused approach to marketing.
Paul Columbus, precinct general manager of Pullman Auckland Airport, said Moda’s experience in the hotel sector and strategic approach made them a strong fit for the hotel.
“With Moda’s extensive experience in hospitality brand strategy and marketing, we’re confident they will bring fresh thinking and a strong strategic lens to how we position and grow the hotel,” said Columbus.
“Pullman Auckland Airport represents an important addition to the Pullman portfolio in New Zealand,” added Rachael Nicholson, commercial director of Accor New Zealand.
“Moda’s strong understanding of hospitality brand strategy and marketing, combined with their commercially focused approach, made them a natural partner as we continue to build awareness and demand for the hotel.”
Moda will lead the development of an integrated marketing programme spanning brand positioning, campaign development and production, paid media strategy, PR and partnerships, with a strong commercial focus.
As part of the programme, Moda will also partner with Ginni Post of GP Communications to support PR and earned media activity, bringing together complementary expertise across hospitality marketing, communications and industry relationships.
Ayers said this combination of marketing and PR will help ensure the hotel’s story is communicated with both creativity and commercial clarity.
“Hotels are complex ecosystems. Successful marketing needs to balance brand, creativity and storytelling, distribution, guest experience and commercial performance. That’s where our experience comes into play—we’ve been in those environments and understand how all the pieces fit together,” said Ayers.
Founded by Ayers after more than two decades working across leading hospitality brands in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom, Moda specialises in hotel brand strategy, marketing, creative direction and production.
The studio partners with hotel owners, operators and developers to shape distinctive brand platforms and marketing strategies designed to unlock growth and long-term value.
“Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport sits in a unique position within the travel journey,” concluded Ayers. “It’s an exciting opportunity to help shape how the hotel shows up in market and build momentum around what is already a truly impressive offering.”
