Icon Agency has ranked ninth in PRovoke’s ‘Fast Movers 2021’ list within the Asia-Pacific region, notching up annual net income growth of 26.6 per cent.

The achievement marks the first time Icon has entered the prestigious ‘Fast Movers’ global and Asia-Pacific agency rankings.

Icon also ranked third in the region for total fee income, with earnings over $7m USD. This placed Icon amongst the top 250 agencies worldwide, and is one of only three Australian agencies to place.

Icon Agency Managing Director Joanne Painter said the ranking was a reflection of Icon’s success over the last 18 months.

“This is an exciting acknowledgement of our recent progress and achievements. It’s a fantastic accomplishment, but it’s also a stepping stone for continued development,” she said.

“This success allows us to continue expanding; adding talented staff and upgrading existing resources to offer high-quality services to more clients across Australia.”

The ranking follows a successful 2020 for Icon, which saw double-digit growth on the back of 20 new clients and major projects, including contracts with the Department of Home Affairs, Schneider Electric, ADP, the Alcohol and Drug Foundation, the Victorian Government and Global Victoria.

Icon was also this month appointed agency of record for national construction giant, Hansen Yuncken.

“Being agile, independent and founder led has proven to be a key advantage over the past 18 months, allowing us to invest ahead of growth and target high-value services and segments through strategic new hires,” said Painter.

Icon’s expansion has resulted in a 20 per cent increase in staff during 2020, with a further 15 full-time employees added to the agency’s digital, creative, PR and planning teams since January.

The agency also opened a new office at Pyrmont’s Jones Bay at the beginning of May, reflecting an expansion of Icon’s NSW operations.

“At Icon, we pride ourselves on building a truly integrated national agency giving clients access to best-in-class creative communications and digital transformation solutions,” Painter said.

“Our recent success has allowed us to expand and further develop this national offering.”
