GroupM’s Wavemaker Opens For Business Down Under

Wavemaker, GroupM’s new global billion-dollar revenue, media, content and technology agency created from the merger of MEC and Maxus, opens its doors today in Australia.

Wavemaker Australia will open with a team of 343 across four offices in Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Brisbane, led by the recently announced CEO Peter Vogel (pictured above).

The agency will service a portfolio of clients including Nestlé, South Australian Government, Vodafone and Hungry Jack’s.

“We’re excited to be bringing the powerful proposition of Wavemaker to our Australian clients with the delivery of world-class product across media, technology and content,” Vogel said.

“Our people are energised and ready to empower our clients to transform and grow their business through the strength of our extensive purchase journey insights and data, in combination with [m]PLATFORM, GroupM’s proprietary global audience technology.”

Wavemaker will have offices in 90 countries with over 8,500 employees. Major global clients include L’Oréal, Vodafone, Marriott, Colgate-Palmolive and Paramount.
