Erin Molan has taken to Linkedin to let everyone know she’s staying on SCA’s airwaves, following rumours Carrie Bickmore could be replacing her.
Molan’s breakfast slot, which she does alongside comics Dave Hughes and Ed Kavalee, is safe for another year.
B&T has also had it confirmed by a spokesperson at SCA that the trio will be returning next year.
Molan wrote on Linkedin: “Completely unprompted! I signed a new radio deal a couple of months back… love these legends… love our breakfast show listeners (the number of whom has almost DOUBLED in a year and feel very grateful to be part of Southern Cross Austereo.”
Rumours have been mounting that the show might get axed because it only saw a 3.6 per cent audience share in the latest radio ratings survey. However, Molan and her team are in an infamously tricky slot, that, back in 2014, used to be ruled by The Kyle & Jackie O Show.
Since then, the network has struggled to find the right talent to fill it, and it has churned through everyone from Mel B to Sam Frost.
So, letting the trio stay and build up listeners rather than reactively dump them from the air makes heaps of sense.
