Indie creative agency Atlantic New York is offering a ‘Riviera Rebate’ to brands that did not attend Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity this year.
The agency, whose clients include Heinz, Blockbuster, Prime Video and TikTok, skipped the festival this year and wants prospective clients that missed out to save even more.
Atlantic New York will offer up to 10 per cent of its agency fee, capped at $50,000, for future projects.
To calculate how much brands would have saved, Atlantic New York has created an online calculator that works out costs such as travel, accommodation, festival badges, bar of choice, clothing, entering work, promoting your brand and more.
Each cost category has different options. For example, under bar of choice Atlantic reckons drinking at the Gutter Bar for a week will set you back $1,200, while the more ritzy Carlton hotel will work out to $12,000.
Promoting your brand can vary in cost from ‘Stickers on bathroom doors (which costs nothing), to ‘Bought a panel ($30,000) and ‘Sponsored a beach ($95,000).
Meanwhile, entering work varies from an entry submission cost ($1,300) to ‘Bought the trophy you won ($50,000).
The Atlantic’s Riviera Rebate calculator is probably not a tool Cannes Lions festival goers will be wanting to share with their finance teams anytime soon. Nonetheless, it provides another reason why the Cairns Crocodiles is a better (and more CFO palatable) alternative.
