Allison Langdon Bursts Into Tears Celebrating ACA Gig

Today‘s Allison Langdon became a blubbering mess while celebrating her new role as Grimshaw’s successor in a moving morning moment.

Langdon and Karl Stefanovic spent the morning on Today, ribbing each other about Langdon’s new role on A Current Affair.

Stefanovic joked, “The countdown is on for Ally to leave breakfast television. We’ve cleared her desk, taken her car park and thrown out her Jimmy Choos… and good riddance, I say!”

However, things turned emotional when Sarah Abo, Langdon’s successor, joined the show, and they spoke about Langdon’s special connection to ACA. Langdon’s late father-in-law Mike Willesee worked on the show.

Langdon broke down and said: “It’s a pretty special thing to the family, if I’m honest. A special thing for Mike, which has sort of surprised me how much emotion he’s had around it,” Langdon said.

Mike is Langdon’s husband of over a decade, Michael Willesee Jr.

Langdon added: “There’s the thought of how nice it would be had he been here,” she explained and then burst into tears.

It was a touching and moving moment, and how full circle for Langdon to be heading to ACA.
