Last night, The Golden Bachelor won high numbers for Nine, with stakes at an all-time high for the three women remaining vying for Bear’s heart. With less than two weeks left, audiences are at the edge of their seats with each moment Bear spends with Janette, Kim, and Sunny.

The episode did the numbers for Nine, winning a Total TV National reach of 1,692,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 708,000.

The latest episode featured Hometown visits, where Bear joined each contestant on a trip to their local turfs. For seven episodes, Bear’s been in charge of the dates, but this episode switches things around, for him to see how they spend their time and, only naturally, be grilled by family members.

It’s high stakes for Bear, after he was grilled by Abbie Chatfield, who was direct with the Golden Bachelor when it came to his intentions with her mum Laura.

Over on Seven, My Kitchen Rules brought in a Total TV National Reach of 1,792,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 1,068,000.

Channel 10‘s Sam Pang Tonight won a Total TV National Reach of 1,263,000.

ABC’s ABC News brought in a Total TV National Reach of 1,346,000.

Over on The Golden Bachelor, Bear joined Sunny in Sydney, where she organised a trip to the driving range to see if Bear’s improved his golf form since their first meeting on the opening night’s red carpet.

Sunny confessed her feelings to Bear after golf, telling him he’s in love with him. She confessed, too, that her previous 15-year relationship ended less than six months ago, which threw Bear for a curveball.

Sunny’s daughters Chloe and Penelope and Chloe’s boyfriend, Brendan, join the pair at lunch, and it doesn’t take long for the grilling to start.

The sisters become concerned when Sunny refers to Bear as her ‘boyfriend’, especially as Bear said she might be “jumping the gun a bit”.

They pull Bear aside for a private chat, asking whether he can handle Sunny’s huge personality, his biggest flaws and whether he’s a feminist.

To that last question, he quickly responds “no”.

“This is an absolute dealbreaker. No matter what he says, I’m not a fan of him anymore,” Chloe said.

But it turns out Bear didn’t really understand what that meant. When explained that’s it’s believing men and women are equal, he immediately changed his answer and ended up winning them over.

Over in Brisbane, Bear met Kim’s son Ben, daughter Abby and friends Joanna and Margie.

Ben and Abby cross-examined Bear, and his first answer to what he sees in Kim is deemed too “generic”. Though, as they get into their experiences with grief Ben and Abby come away believing he’s genuine.

Before Bear left, Kim knew it could be now or never for telling him how she feels.

“I know I could feel madly in love with you,” she said. To the camera, she admits she’s already fallen.

Over in Melbourne, Bear joins Janette. She’s been holding back lately because she’s scared to get hurt, but she’s determined to open up.

Bear meets Janette’s mum, her sons, daughter-in-law, granddaughter, and bestie Leanne, who supposedly has a psychic ability to tap into his soul.

He successfully wins everyone over, except psychic Leanne.

“I looked into his eyes and I’m not really sure I see a genuine person,” she said.

She asked him whether he’d move for love, and he admitted that geography could be an issue. “You’re sitting on that fence aren’t you, Bear?” she told him. However, Bear managed to turn the situation around, convincing Leanne of his love for Janette.

Leanne comes away thinking, in her psychic opinion, Bear “has a gorgeous heart, gorgeous soul and I see them going far”. What a switch up!

At the rose ceremony, Bear faced a difficult decision. Eventually, he calls out Sunny forward first, followed by Janette, leaving Kim to go home. Now, it’s two women left hoping to win Bear’s heart.
