the Daily Mail is copping backlash online after the new site posted photos of Lisa Wilkinson drinking a cocktail alone.
The headline that accompanied the photos, read: “Lisa Wilkinson sips on a margarita as she dines alone at a restaurant in Melbourne following The Project’s recent panellist shake-up”
The images just showed Wilkinson dining at a restaurant by herself and enjoying a cocktail – interestingly it became news.
The Daily Mail‘s coverage of such a non-event subsequently made waves online, with people on Twitter calling it “intrusive” and “disgusting,”
I sometimes go to the pub by myself, but because I'm a bloke I suppose that won't make the papers.

I thought exactly the same. I just thought (as did Lisa) that this piece was disgustingly intrusive.

This is disgusting. Not news, not journalism. Be furious. -> Lisa Wilkinson sips on a margarita as she dines alone at a restaurant in Melbourne | Daily Mail Online https://t.co/WGViyFCXwd

Things got more interesting when Lisa Wilkinson took to Twitter to share her experience of the incident.
Wilkinson tweeted, “I was aware of a guy. He was incredibly menacing. I saw him. Walk past a half a dozen times, staring at me. I never saw a phone or camera, though. I was so concerned, I waited an hour, working until I thought he had left the area.
“Horrifying that a news org employs people like this.”

This then led to entertainment reporter Peter Ford taking to Twitter to call Wilkinson’s “reaction odd.”
Of course, it should be flagged that Ford isn’t a woman so probably doesn’t quite understand how scary men can be to women.
I’ve been advised Lisa wasn’t staying in that hotel so I accept that. Still seems weird not to ask restaurant staff for help or call Channel 10 security – literally across the road. She should not have been made to feel uncomfortable-story was idiotic -but think reaction was odd. https://t.co/2P5YJfNhQL

Either way, here at B&T, we firmly believe Wilkinson should be able to enjoy her cocktail in peace.
