Snap has launched its first-ever bitmoji drop in partnership with Adidas, with users able to claim a snazzy jacket for their animated avatars.

Until this Saturday (that’s right, move quickly) Snapchatters will be able to claim an exclusive Adidas ITM track jacket in Snap’s recognizably loud yellow colourway featuring Adidas’ web3 logo and black stripes on the sleeves.

“We are thrilled to introduce this first-of-its-kind bitmoji Drop in partnership with adidas,” said David Rosenberg, Snap’s director of bitmoji strategy.

“Unlocking new bitmoji Fashion experiences presents an exciting opportunity for Snapchatters to get access to exclusive digital fashion and express their unique digital identity, and a new frontier for innovative brand partnerships at bitmoji scale.”

The jacket is available for the princely sum of 250 Snap Tokens (around AU$0.48), which are available to buy within Snapchat’s Token Shop.

Snapchatters who “cop the drop” can adorn their bitmoji in the jacket, which will be saved in “My Closet,” so it will be around after the drop event ends.

“In November adidas launched its first ever collection of wearable NFTs to meet our community’s desire for profile picture styling,” said Erika Wykes-Sneyd, VP of Adidas’ The Three Stripes Studio.

“This represents a new product category called ‘Virtual Gear’. Today, in partnership with Snapchat, we add to a growing collection of virtual styling with the opportunity for anyone to style their bitmoji with the adidas “Into The Metaverse” (ITM) track jacket to flex their three stripe life virtually.”
