OMD Snares Qantas’ International Media Buying Account

Omnicom’s OMD has today been announced as Qantas’ international media buying agency.

OMD presently handles all of Qantas media buying in Australia. The airline’s creative is handled by The Monkeys.

In a short statement sent to media, Qantas said it wanted to consolidate its media buying activities across its international markets with the one agency partner.

OMD has managed the airline’s Australian media buying since 2014 and will now handle all its media buying internationally.

Commenting on the win, Aimee Buchanan, CEO OMD Australia, said, “We are a proud partner of Qantas and are absolutely delighted to extend our relationship to cover their international network.

“We are lucky to have a truly cohesive media agency network across the globe, with the capability to drive and manage the business out of Sydney.

“We look forward to working with Qantas and their partners to drive continued growth for their business and brand,” Buchanan said.

The appointment is effective from today with each market transitioning  over the next few months.
