Farmer Wants a Wife was Monday’s most-watched entertainment program, drawing a Total TV National Reach of 1,666,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 899,000 to Seven as the season’s drama continued to build.

The episode followed farmer Alex on a solo date with clear frontrunner Eddy. It was a romantic one-on-one that looked promising until things unravelled back at the farm. Rachel found Eddy’s notebook in the bedroom, containing a private letter written to Alex. The discovery triggered one of the season’s more dramatic exits, with a woman sent home before the night was out.

Nine had a strong night across its entertainment slate. Tipping Point Australia continued its quiet consistency with a national reach of 1,665,000 and an average audience of 897,000, placing it right on the heels of Farmer Wants a Wife.

Travel Guides drew in a national reach of 1,617,000 and an average 839,000 audience of for its Tanzania leg, where the group came face-to-face with Africa’s wildlife, ticked off a hot air balloon safari and wound down in Zanzibar.

Over on Ten, Have You Been Paying Attention? delivered a national reach of 1,196,000 and an average audience of 715,000. MasterChef Australia was close behind with a reach of 1,155,000 and an average audience of 669,000 for Knockout Week’s Judge’s Fridge challenge. Contestants drew mystery fridges and had to cook with whatever was inside, blind. The stakes were higher than usual, with the best dish also winning a brand new fridge and a $5,000 LG voucher. Petro took the honours with his Gr-asian Filo Cigars.

ABC’s Four Corners drew in a national reach of 881,000 and an average audience 558,000 while Deep End: The Scott Miller Story brought in a national reach of 831,000 and an average audience of 609,000 for the network.

SBS had a difficult night by comparison, managing just one entry in the top 30. The FIFA World Cup clash between South Africa and Canada drew a national reach of 681,000 and an average audience of 244,000, a drop from the audience figures the tournament attracted over the weekend. Canada won the match 1-0.
