It appears President Trump won’t be chowing down on any Big Macs anytime soon after a rather derogatory tweet about him turned up McDonald’s Twitter feed overnight.

The tweet, sent at 9:16 a.m. on Thursday, reads: “@realDonaldTrump You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands.”

It got re-tweeted about 200 times before someone cottoned on and deleted it. McDonald’s is unsure how the tweet appeared and later tweeted back in response: “Twitter notified us that our account was compromised. We deleted the tweet, secured our account and are now investigating this.”

McDonald’s US spokeswoman Terry Hickey added: “We are now further investigating this.”

The President – typically a huge fan of fast food – has not yet replied.

However, the tweet could easily be the work of a disgruntled employee. McDonald’s in the US has invested heavily in its social media presence of late to try and woo back Millennial diners. The Wall Street Journal recently reported it had recruited 200 new digital staff last year for its social media strategy.
