The Front Bar has made an early play for Grand Final weekend bragging rights, with Seven’s special Thursday night edition drawing a Total TV National Reach of 1,470,000 and a Total TV National Average Audience of 704,000.
The Grand Final special brought together a mix of season reflection, footy-based banter and a look ahead to Saturday’s AFL decider, with Collingwood star and recent Brownlow medal winner Nick Daicos among the headline guests.
He joined the hosts to talk through his remarkable season and medal win, while also revisiting some of the year’s more entertaining moments. That included a laugh over Andy Maher’s reaction on Blues Radio after Collingwood’s victory over Carlton earlier in the season.
The result puts The Front Bar just ahead of fan-favourite quiz shows including Nine’s Tipping Point Australia. It recorded a national reach of 1,326,000 and an average audience of 696,000, while Seven’s The Chase Australia had a national reach of 1,272,000 with an average audience of 650,000.
Elsewhere, Nine’s Footy Show Grand Final: My Room Telethon landed in thirteenth overall, had a national reach of 842,000 with an average audience of 121,000.
Hosted by Eddie McGuire, with Alicia Loxley and a host of AFL players and personalities joining the special, the telethon brought the footy community together in support of the My Room Children’s Cancer Charity.
ABC’s Back Roads also made the top fifteen with a national reach of 742,000 and an average audience of 522,000.
The episode saw Lisa Millar head to Bicheno on Tasmania’s east coast to explore how the town is building its future around the spectacular natural environment on its doorstep.
Meanwhile, Ten’s The Dog House Australia kept the nation’s dog obsession alive and well. It came in eighteenth with a national reach of 676,000 and an average audience of 320,000.
