KFC Enlists Céline Dion To Roast Customers Who DIY-Ed During Restaurant Closures

There can be no denying the Brits’ love of KFC.

And with the fried chicken chain closed across the UK since March 23, many lovers of the Colonel’s greasy bird have taken to social media to recreate their very own versions of the famed 11 secret herbs and spices.

There’s even a hashtag #RateMyKFC where fellow KFC lovers and KFC itself can rate people’s home attempts to recreate the KFC menu.

So to announce that 500 of its restaurants are now reopening for drive-thru and delivery, KFC has released a new spot featuring some of its customers’ best attempts at recreating its fabled deep-fried chicken.

The spot, called “KFC is back”, is the work of KFC’s incumbent creative agency Mother and is all set to Céline Dion’s All By Myself and comes with the message that the days of imitation are over and “We’ll take it from here”.

Check the spot out below (and again be warned about the Céline Dion bit):

Commenting on the new spot, Jack Hinchliffe, KFC UK and Ireland marketing director said: “We’ve loved seeing the nation’s homemade efforts whilst we’ve been away, so including a few of them in our new ad is the perfect tribute.

“Some of the creations looked incredible, some less so. Now that we’re back on delivery, probably best we take it from here,” he said.
