Keep Left Snags Former Naked Comms Staff For Content And Digital Offerings

Independent PR agency Keep Left has launched a content production and digital marketing arm to sit alongside its longstanding PR business.

Former Naked Communications staff members Andy Day and Thomas Rennie have joined Keep Left as content producer and art director, with the new division to be headed by brand communications and digital marketing all‐rounder, Matt Krosch, formerly of Melbourne IT/Netregistry and digital marketing instructor with General Assembly.

Keep Left CEO, Caroline Catterall said, “Stories are how we connect as humans. They stimulate the primitive part of our brains that determine who we trust, how we feel and the decision we make.

“But the rules of engagement have changed. We believe the winners will be digitally savvy content creators who understand storytelling, and can produce evidence of success.

“Our strategy is to combine the art and science of storytelling, which we think is a heady mix.”

Catterall said Keep Left’s existing client base had responded positively to the evolution, with many already starting to dabble in content production. Other clients in the agency include Fonterra, Anchor Dairy, FIJI Water, Dairy Australia, VicSuper, ME (formerly ME Bank), MAB Corporation, St John Ambulance, DFAT and Care Australia.

The agency added it was keen to collaborate with other independent advertising agencies.

“We’re very clear we’re not an advertising agency and while we’re now playing in the paid digital space to
distribute our content, that’s as far as we plan to take it,” Catterall added.

The recent appointments take Keep Left’s staff numbers to 20, with the business also launching a new website and show‐reel explaining its data driven approach.
