JCDecaux NZ Launches ‘The Fern Is All Of Us’ Campaign For Commonwealth Games

JCDecaux has launched a new campaign in New Zealand, bringing the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games to life across its nationwide Digital Out-of-Home network.

As the official Out-of-Home partner of the New Zealand Olympic Committee and New Zealand Team, JCDecaux’s latest campaign builds on the ‘The Fern is All Of Us’ platform, featuring dynamic creative, live Games updates and supporter content across its Large Format network.

The campaign marks JCDecaux’s sixth major Games cycle with the New Zealand Team, showcasing how Out-of-Home can unite audiences and bring major sporting moments closer to home.

Running across JCDecaux’s Large Format network, the campaign builds on the Fern is All Of Us platform launched as part of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. The fern has long been worn by New Zealand’s national teams and is recognised as a sign of strength, unity and pride, making it the shared symbol for athletes competing in Glasgow and the supporters standing behind them at home.

Jonny Errington, chief commercial and marketing officer at the New Zealand Olympic Committee said: “Through our longstanding partnership with JCDecaux, and in collaboration with Latch, we are delivering powerful creative that connects New Zealanders directly to the build-up to Glasgow 2026 and to the action as it unfolds. The campaign creates a single story, showing the fern taking root in Glasgow while reflecting it back through the people who stand behind our athletes at home. Ko Tātou Katoa. The Fern is All Of Us.”

Meanwhile, Phil Eastwood, general manager, JCDecaux New Zealand, said: “Glasgow 2026 is another chance for us to use Out-of-Home to bring New Zealanders closer to the Games and to our athletes wearing the fern.”

“Working with the New Zealand Team, we have built a model over multiple Games cycles that combines scale, immediacy and creativity. For Glasgow 2026 that means celebrating the Team on the way in, then shifting into live moments, medal wins and supporter content that keeps Kiwis connected to the action wherever they are.”

In the build-up to the Games, JCDecaux has used its digital and static sites to celebrate official New Zealand Team selections as squads have been confirmed, helping build anticipation and nationwide support ahead of the event.

In the lead-up to the Opening Ceremony, the campaign centres on a dynamic growing fern execution across JCDecaux’s Large Format sites. The creative is set within a distinctive Glasgow cityscape, showing the fern slowly emerging and unfurling as a single leaf and progressively taking shape as a full symbol of the New Zealand Team. Developed with Latch, the execution represents the fern’s arrival in Glasgow, carrying the strength, mana and collective spirit of the New Zealand Team into the host city.

Through a custom portal, fans are invited to upload photos of themselves backing the Team, with selected images appearing across New Zealand Team channels and prime JCDecaux sites around the country. The creative updates throughout the day, bringing supporter energy into the campaign as competition unfolds.

Alongside supporter content, JCDecaux’s sites will carry live Games updates, reminders to tune in and medal tally information, helping keep New Zealanders connected to the action while they are out and about.
