Endemol Shine Australia has appointed Dan Cazzola as senior VP of development.
Cazzola will spearhead the expansion of Endemol Shine Australia’s English-language originals slate for the US and global markets.
His remit includes developing “big, bold, and dynamic IP” and driving strategic opportunities with US and international buyers.
Cazzola joins from Yes Yes Media – backed by Elisabeth Murdoch’s Sister Group – where he was a consultant working across the US and UK development and strategic growth initiatives.
Endemol Shine Australia said the appointment signals “a determined period of expansion for ESA as the company sharpens its focus on international opportunities, taking its unique brand of creative energy and excellence to the biggest buyers in the world, building on its impressive slate of originals with international traction”.
The new role marks a return to the Banijay family for Cazzola, who previously served as SVP, unscripted development at Endemol Shine North America.
During that tenure, he developed and sold major original series including Deal or No Deal Island and Hot Wheels: Ultimate Challenge (NBC), Foodtastic (Disney+), and Domino Challenge (M6, RTL).
He also oversaw US adaptations of Banijay Entertainment formats such as LEGO Masters (FOX) and Would I Lie To You? (The CW).
Endemol Shine Australia CEO Peter Newman said: “ESA’s track record of building defining versions of multi territory, global formats and original IP that travels, is thanks to the world‑class talent we attract. Dan’s exceptional creative vision and proven ability for working with broadcast partners to deliver major original series makes him an outstanding addition to the team.”
Cazzola added: “Being back at Banijay and working with ESA on their ambitious growth strategy in the US and internationally to build stand out original content is incredibly exciting.”
Endemol Shine Australia has produced Aussie hits including Married At First Sight Australia, MasterChef Australia and LEGO Masters Australia.
