Nine’s audio division, soon to be rebranded as Tapt Media, has announced the return of Del Fordham as head of podcasts.
Fordham rejoins the business after a 12-month stint at Amazon, bringing global experience and fresh insights into the rapidly evolving digital audio market. During his time at Amazon he was responsible for producing and commissioning Audible’s content.
He previously played a key role in laying the foundations for Nine’s audio operations.
In his new role commencing 1 May, Fordham will focus on accelerating Tapt Media’s podcast strategy, with a particular emphasis on engaging new and younger audiences.
He will also work closely with Sales and Digital teams to expand commercial opportunities and explore innovative distribution channels, including YouTube.
“Our goal is to grow our digital audio footprint aggressively, and Del’s leadership is a vital piece of that puzzle,” Tom Malone said in an email to staff on Monday.
