Clemenger BBDO Sydney has been appointed as the creative partner for Weis following a competitive pitch for the distinctly Australian brand’s range of natural bars, ice creams, frozen yoghurts and sorbets.
The agency will revitalise the brand that began in Queensland in 1957 to really get the brand into consumers’ minds again across Australia and also get it known in New Zealand, where Weis recently launched.
Weis is a much loved Australian brand, with a winning recipe having used Australian dairy and the particularly coveted Kensington Pride Mangoes for over 60 years. It’s a brand that has never stopped innovating – with recent launches including Native Picks, a range which heroes native Australian ingredients Lemon Myrtle and Davidson Plum.
“Weis is a brand with so much going for it; authentic products with untouchable recipes, a great team keeping our real fruit standards high and a personality that reflects some great Aussie qualities. Our aim is to ensure every Aussie stocks their freezers with Weis this summer and the passion and creativity we saw from the Clemenger team – really gave us the confidence that we’ve found true partners to do this brand justice,” said Weis brand manager Annie Lucchitti.
Pete Bosilkovski, CEO Clemenger BBDO Sydney, added: “Weis is a quintessential Australian brand that Aussies have been enjoying for over six decades. We’re thrilled to be working with the passionate Weis team to introduce this special taste of Australia to a whole new generation here and across the Tasman.”
The partnership with Weis is the latest in a number of new business wins by Clemenger BBDO Sydney, most recently announcing the appointment by Seafood Industry Australia (SIA).
