Everyone’s favourite Kazakh journalist Borat is set to return to the screen today, as Amazon Prime Video launches ‘Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan’.

The movie looks set to be just as controversial as the original. A scene from the film has already began circulating, which shows US President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani reclining on a bed and putting his hand down his pants with a 24-year-old actress, who is playing Borat’s teenage daughter.

And while the hype around the movie will no doubt entice viewers, Amazon has still launched a global PR blitz to celebrate Borat.

Here in Australia, Borat launched a takeover of Bondi beach – which was rebranded as ‘Borat Beach – which saw a giant sculpture of Borat wearing only an American flag placed at Bondi’s Marks Park.

In a press release, Borat’s PR team described the gesture as “one of the proudest days in recent Kazakhstan/Australian diplomatic relations” and compared the statue to the Statue of Liberty, which was gifted to New York by the French more than 134 years ago.

The statue was joined by moustachioed Borat look-a-likes, wearing masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19, albeit around their genitals.

Borat Sagdiyev said: “Jagshemash, it give me great pleasure to present you with this giant Borat erection at Bondi Beach. This statue was quarantine in a hotel in Melbourne for 14 days; it is free of COVID, but probably have syphilis after four of your security guards make sexytime with it.  I have new moviefilm coming out tomorrow, I think you will enjoy it more than Rudolph Giuliani will. Or as you guys call him, Cockadile Dundee, yes?”

In the UK, Borat hijacked major landmarks including Edinburgh Castle, the Angel of the North, the Tower of London and Anfield Stadium.

There was also a giant inflating Borat spotted floating down the Thames in London.

These landmarks all displayed a giant image of a semi-naked Borat, instructing onlookers to wear a mask and save lives.
