Blackmores Announces Marketing Development Program

Blackmores Group has announced its newly launched marketing development program, Blackmores Vitality Brand Masters, has received Endorsement from the Australian Marketing Institute (AMI). Blackmores is the first and only vitamin company to receive this prestigious recognition by the peak professional marketing body in Australia.

Over the past two years, Blackmores Group has developed a comprehensive Marketing capability program that underscores its commitment to developing a world-class marketing community across the 13 markets it operates in.

Blackmores Vitality Brand Masters provides structured learning programs and tools designed to enhance and build the marketing skills of the Group’s marketers. Underpinning the structured learning programs is the Blackmores Marketing Competency Framework, which outlines the critical skills and competencies required to shape and develop a marketing career. This framework is based on external benchmarking and has been tailored specifically for Blackmores Group.

The Vitality program focuses on the development of nine major competencies for brand/product marketers, such as strategic thinking, building strong brands, commercial acumen, and execution management. Each competency then has very detailed and specific skill outcomes defined across a range of proficiency levels, making it a practical tool for professional career development.

Joanne Smith, Blackmores group chief marketing & innovation officer said, “At Blackmores Group we recognise the critical role that marketing plays in driving growth. We champion the development of our marketing community by providing critical business experiences, by coaching and mentoring and through structured capability programs such as Blackmores Vitality Brand Masters.

“The new program enables our marketers to access a comprehensive range of training programs designed to develop the skills, tools and capabilities of a world-class marketing organisation. It has been externally benchmarked and it is the only capability program in the Healthcare and Pharmaceutical industry that is accredited by the Australian Marketing Institute”.

AMI Chair, Andrew Thornton, said: “We are proud to partner with Blackmores and provide the AMI’s support for the Vitality Brand Masters program.  Ongoing professional development is critical in underpinning career progression for today’s marketer and the Vitality Brand Masters program enables marketers to build the contemporary skills and competencies required for today and into the future.”

As part of the program, Blackmores marketers will receive points towards their Certified Practising Marketer (CPM) accreditation with the Australian Marketing Institute. The CPM title is the trust mark of a professional marketer. The CPM is the only professional accreditation of its kind for marketers in the Asia-Pacific Region and a title that officially recognises both formal education and the successful application of marketing knowledge and skills in practice.

As a Group, Blackmores invests in the talent of its employees through innovative and tailored learning journeys that focus on the holistic and functional skills required to succeed.

Blackmores Group believes it is important for its own people to have access to the best learning and development programs. The Marketing function plays a key role in Blackmores Group reaching its ambition of connecting 1 billion consumers to the healing power of nature by 2025.  Employees are part of a world-class, learning-focused organisation that provides growth, development and career opportunities.
