Independent media agency Bench Media has promoted Jessica Torstensson to general manager – Growth.
It said the promotion recognises the impact Torstensson has made since joining the agency as client growth director in November 2025.
In her new role, Torstensson will take on broader responsibility for Bench’s growth strategy, bringing together client strategy, senior client partnerships, new business and the agency’s market presence in market. She will work closely with the senior leadership team to strengthen Bench’s full-service offering and help clients grow their businesses.
Bench Media’s CEO and co-founder, Ori Gold said the promotion recognised Torstensson’s contribution to the agency’s strategy, client relationships and growth since joining.
Gold said: “Jess has made a real impact on the way we approach client strategy. She challenges our thinking, brings a clearer understanding of our clients’ businesses and helps turn that into stronger recommendations. She’s also helped raise Bench’s profile and shape the next stage of our growth.
“Clients respect Jess because she understands their businesses and gives them a straight answer. Her team respects her because she’s generous with her experience, challenges their thinking and is committed to developing the people around her. Giving her a broader role recognises that contribution and gives her more scope to shape our strategy and support our people.”
Torstensson has more than 20 years’ experience in media and marketing, including senior roles at Atomic 212°, CHEP and OMD. Since joining Bench, she has helped build senior client relationships and contributed to the agency’s new business momentum while helping to develop its next generation of talent.
Torstensson said: “What drew me to Bench was the chance to help ambitious brands grow with a team that cares deeply about the work and the people behind it. Over the past year, I’ve seen how much we can achieve when we bring strong strategy, honest client relationships and great people together.
“I’m proud of the momentum we’ve built and excited to take on a bigger role in where we go next. That means continuing to win the trust of clients, investing in our team and making sure our growth creates real opportunities for both,” she concluded.
In the last year, Bench has won Hisense and Prospa across ANZ and expanded its Bikes Online remit into the US. The agency has also launched Bench Lens, its research and audience intelligence offering, developed under Torstensson’s leadership to help clients better understand their audiences, test assumptions and make more informed channel choices.
Earlier this year, Torstensson also founded and launched The Room Collective, an Australian community for women working across media, marketing and publishing.
Her promotion is effective immediately.
