GroupM’s MediaCom has announced the appointment of Anthony Sciacca to the role of head of marketplace, Sydney. Previously group trading director at OMD Australia, Sciacca joins MediaCom with over 15 years of industry experience.
In recent months, GroupM has snared some high profile OMD employees including the prized scalp of Aimee Buchanan who takes up the GroupM CEO role in November. Following Buchanan out the OMD door was its chief operating officer Nathan Young who recently took up the role of GroupM’s chief growth officer.
In his new role, Sciacca will focus on leading MediaCom’s investment team to ensure connected executions plans are brought to life, whilst developing exciting partnerships with the media to deliver maximum value for its wide portfolio of clients.
Appointed to be a trusted investment advisor for MediaCom’s clients and media partners, Sciacca has worked in a wide range of trading and investment roles, as well as broader leadership roles for some of Australia’s top agencies.

Effective immediately, Sciacca will report directly into Nick Thomas, national head of investment.
