Yango has promoted Amy Carr from general manager of growth to the newly created role of managing director.
The appointment comes at a pivotal time for Yango as the agency successfully transitions from its digital-first roots into a full-service media offering. This evolution has been fuelled by business momentum over the past year, marked by a recent string of new client acquisitions.
In her previous role as general manager of growth, Carr was instrumental in shaping Yango’s expanded capabilities and driving the new business strategy that has underpinned the agency’s recent success. Her promotion is a natural progression as Yango steps into its next phase of growth.
Prior to joining Yango 12 months ago, Carr held senior roles at PHD and Publicis Groupe, leading client work for brands including PepsiCo, Google, Daikin, Kenvue and Bayer.
“Amy has been a driving force behind our recent business momentum and our transformation as an agency. Moving from a digital specialist to a full-service offering requires sharp strategic vision, and Amy has delivered exactly that. As we step into our next chapter, there is no one better suited to lead the team. Her expertise and leadership will be essential as we continue to elevate our work and deliver outstanding results for our clients,” said Yango founder and managing partner Luke Povee.
In her new role, Carr will oversee Yango’s day-to-day operations and guide the agency’s overarching strategic direction. Her focus aligns directly with Yango’s core mission: to grow and attract ambitious clients who are inherently people-focused and results-driven.
Central to this mission is the agency’s foundational belief that while data and technology are crucial tools in the modern media landscape, human ingenuity is the unlock to solving complex business challenges.
“I’m incredibly proud of the momentum our team has built and thrilled to take on the Managing Director role during such an exciting period of growth for Yango. We are proving that an agile, independent agency can deliver full-service solutions that compete with the biggest players in the market. I’m looking forward to continuing our work with clients who value smart, human-led strategy as much as we do,” said Carr.
The appointment is effective immediately.
