More than 3.4 million Aussies tuned in to watch the US smash Australia 2-0 in the World Cup on Saturday morning. The match, which leaves the Socceroos only needing a point from their final group game to advance in the tournament, posted an average audience of 2.2 million (many fans probably switched the game off after America’s second goal).

SBS’s World Cup coverage dominated ratings over the weekend, with eight games pulling audiences of 1 million-plus viewers.

Last night, Farmer Wants A Wife won the prime time battle, reaching 2,050,000 viewers and an average audience of 969,000.

The episode delivered one of the season’s biggest twists yet, with Lily storming out of farmer Dylan’s season mid-elimination, declaring her heart belonged “out there” before turning her attention to Ally’s secret kiss with Dylan during the double date.

Nine’s Sunday afternoon NRL coverage featured in the top five with a national reach of 1,519,000 and an average audience of 591,000 average audience. The Sydney Roosters beat the Cronulla Sharks 27-8 in yesterday’s clash.

On Nine, Boy George & Culture Club came in seventh with a national reach of 1,267,000 and an average audience of 332,000. The documentary series traces the band’s rise out of London in the early-80s and what played out behind-the-scenes.

ABC’s Race Around The World came in fifteenth with a national reach of 829,000 and an average audience of 447,000. The rebooted format sent six storytellers and ten films around the globe, hosted by Zan Rowe alongside original 90s racer John Safran.

On Saturday night, SBS’s 2026 FIFA World Cup coverage dominated ratings, with ten features in the top 30. Topping the night was the highly anticipated USA v AUS game, which saw Australian lose 2 to 0. Australia greatly assisted team USA in it’s win, unfortunately scoring an own goal. The match drew a national reach of 3,414,000 and an average audience of 2,187,000.

Sporting programs held firm over the weekend, with Seven’s AFL coverage taking the top spot on Friday night with a national reach of 1,928,000 and an average audience of 1,273,000. Nine’s favourite quiz show Tipping Point Australia, trailed closely behind with a national reach of 1,715,000 and an average audeince fo 613,00.
