A big day for avid TV Wrap readers: Wednesday night’s top programs – Nine News and Seven News – both scored an average of 977,000 metro viewers, according to OzTAM’s metro data.
After a tense battle, Nine News pulled slightly ahead to nab the number one position.
Next was A Current Affair with 695,000, while season six of Hard Quiz continued its domination of Wednesday night entertainment with 663,000 viewers.
Nine’s second episode of Travel Guides once again tapped into our ever-increasing wanderlust with an episode spotlighting the African island of Mauritius.
Big Brother overtook MasterChef in the reality TV wars, scoring 556,000 viewers as opposed to the latter’s 535,000.
Also for Seven has Home and Away with a good night of 608,000 – beating ABC News, which had 601,000 – and The Chase with 520,000.
ABC’s 7.30 had 553,000 viewers while The Weekly With Charlie Pickering had 490,000 and You Can’t Ask That had 310,000.
Over at 10, The Project had 439,000 viewers while 10 News First had 363,000.
Then at Nine, Hot Seat had 420,000 viewers and Doctor Doctor had 371,000.
Once again, Nine (all channels) narrowly between Seven (all channels) to win the night, with 27 per cent of the daily share versus 26 per cent. 10 (all channels) had 19 per cent while the ABC (all channels) had 17 per cent.
The SBS Network secured nine per cent, an increase from previous weeks.
