The Western Australian Marketing Association (WAMA) and Advertising Council Australia (ACA) will host Moving Forward, Together: A DEI Pop-Up Event” on November 14 in Perth.

Open to professionals at any stage of their DEI journey, the event will provide insights from industry leaders about how agencies and brands are embedding DEI into their business to drive meaningful change.

Key themes from WAMA’s A Way to Go and ACA’s Create Space reports will guide the session, providing attendees with a clear roadmap for fostering inclusivity.

Tess Palmyre, WAMA DEI Lead and founder of Brandable, will also host a panel of prominent leaders to explore the essential elements needed for an inclusive workplace including culture-building, recruitment, leadership buy-in, and legal frameworks, and how to overcome common barriers.

Panellists include:

Michael Rebelo, group CEO, Publicis Groupe AU/NZ, and ACA deputy chair

Hannah Sturrock, national head of engagement, ACA, and DEI Lead

Bruno Di Girolami, partner at Lavan, specialising in DEI legal frameworks and compliance

James Pritchard, senior UX designer at RAC CoLAB, member of WAMA DEI Taskforce

Palmyre said: “DEI is not just a trend; it’s essential for the future of our industry. This event is designed to equip WA marketers with the tools, guidance, and inspiration to make DEI integral to their business—a vital opportunity to discuss challenges, celebrate progress, and gain practical insights for building inclusive, forward-thinking workplaces.”

ACA WA state manager, Melissa Vella, added: “By partnering with WAMA, ACA aims to push beyond conversation to genuine action on DEI. This event offers WA’s advertising and marketing community an invaluable opportunity to learn directly from leaders shaping the future of our industry.”
