A new British dating show is causing a stir after viewers were left dismayed about how unsuccessful contestants exited the program.
Called The Love Trap, the show sees 12 women enter a house attempting to win the affections of eligible bachelor, a chap called David Birtwistle.
The catch is that half of the female contestants are already in relationships and are merely on the show to dupe Birtwistle and win prize money.
All rudimentary dating show stuff until you see how the losing contestants are bundled out of the competition at the end of each episode.
In a stunt worthy of a James Bond villain, the three women up for the episode’s eviction stand on circular mats, the unlucky evictee subsequently plummeting through a trap door.
Thankfully, producers of the program have confirmed it’s all perfectly safe. Check out contestant Cherie’s abrupt departure from the show’s trailer below.
