Movember has launched its 2026 global campaign, ‘Make a Growmitment’, calling on men everywhere to not grow it alone.
Whether it’s to Grow a Mo, Move 60km, Host an event or Mo Your Own Way, a Growmitment is a challenge made between mates to show up for Movember, raise funds and build awareness to help stop men dying too young.
The campaign launches this week, with the first pair to take up the challenge, Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty, followed by comedians Aaron Chen and John Crunkshank, who attempt to grow moustaches (with questionable results) all in the name of men’s health.
The films launch globally, kicking off a month of Growmitment’s between celebrities, sporting stars, and mates everywhere who will shave down, grow together and keep each other honest throughout Movember.
This is just the beginning, with Rick & Morty and Aaron Chen and John Crunkshank among the first of many talent collaborations rolling out throughout this year’s campaign, bringing together Aussie and global talent in unexpected ways to get more people involved in Movember.
This concept is rooted in Movember’s origin story. In 2003, two mates in a pub challenged their friends to grow a moustache. A little friendly peer pressure went a long way and twenty-three years later, ‘Make a Growmitment’ turns that founding spirit into a global call to action: challenge a mate, grow together, change men’s health.
The strategy and concept led by Special via Justin Drape’s CREATIVITY&COMMERCE leans into a behavioural truth the category rarely addresses head-on: intent is easy, follow-through isn’t.
By turning participation into something you commit to publicly – in front of mates, partners, colleagues and a feed full of witnesses — a Growmitment makes it harder to quietly give up. Movember and Special’s position is simple: a Growmitment is simply how friends show up for each other.
And the impact of the campaign is to drive change where it’s needed. Men die nearly five years earlier than women, largely from preventable causes – a reality that has driven Movember’s purpose for more than two decades. It’s a gap the organisation is determined to close.
“A moustache is a conversation starter, and conversations save lives. That’s the idea behind Growmitment. We’re asking people to commit to grow, move, get involved and use the attention it generates to talk about men’s health. Every Growmitment this Movember funds real world outcomes for men,” said Ben Miles, global director of brand and digital, Movember.
