UM Australia Retains ING Media Business

UM Australia has been awarded the national media account for ING. The decision was announced after a rigorous review process that started in March this year.

UM Australia was first awarded ING’s media duties in 2012 and the review this year was a full appraisal of ING’s future direction for its national media portfolio.

UM won the business based on the quality of the work presented in the pitch process which was regarded as demonstrating a superior strategic edge among the agencies competing for the business. The agency was also recognised for the exceptional and continuous high quality during the extended pitch process.

“We are immensely proud to be awarded this business from such a respected client,” said Fiona Johnston (pictured above), CEO of UM Australia, who started work this week. “I could not be more proud of the UM pitch team who have worked so hard and intelligently in helping ING work towards a clear vision for its media and customer engagement.

“This was a hard-fought win and not just a retention. We won through passion, dedication and smart thinking,” said Johnston.

UM will immediately transition to adopt its recommendations for ING under the leadership of group director Rhonda So.
