Nine’s Taronga: Who’s Who In The Zoo had 1,300,000 viewers enthralled as volunteers attempted to upgrade the red panda habitat with a new feeder. Unfortunately, for the volunteers the gizmo that was meant to be turkey proof did not work as originally planned.
The episode that attracted a total TV national average audience of 552,000 people, also included the keepers and vets at the Zoo giving lioness Maya a contraceptive implant, whilst doing a full health check before she woke up. Some older Galápagos tortoises also received some love, getting ultrasounds as part of their frequent health checks.
Nine also kept its BVOD crown overnight with Love Island. This was thanks to 354,000 Love Island fans tuning in to watch yet another episode of cyclone Gabby. She went off at fellow Islanders Mick and Ross for their constant cheeky remarks aimed at her. But Ross quickly snapped back stating you can’t continue playing the main character card, if you are also going to play the victim.
The pair 27 and 28 are much older than the 21-year old Gabby, who believes they should just leave her alone and she “wouldn’t be caught dead going on Love Island pushing 30.”
Seven’s most popular entertainment program of the evening was The Chase, raking in a reach of 1,129,000 and an average of 544,000. Over on 10 its most viewed entertainment program was Jamie’s Cook-Ahead Christmas. A mere reach of 559,000 and an average of 235,000 tuned in as Jamie Oliver showed off festive dishes and sides in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
