As of yesterday, Milano Cortina has officially begun and what better way to kick off Nine’s broadcast than by showing off Italy’s best curlers.
A total TV national reach of 1,649,000 tuned in to the curling as Italy opened up its campaign with a win over South Korea. Attempting to claim the gold medal for a second consecutive Games, Italy’s Stefania Constantini and Amos Mosaner cruised to a 8-4 victory in front of a total TV national average audience of 511,000.
However, after a lot of Aussies had gone to bed, Canadian curlers Brett Gallant and Jocelyn Peterman ended Italy’s 22-match winning streak, smashing the reigning Olympic and world champions 7-2.
Nine had a stellar night in the ratings toping the chart with MAFS. A reach of 2,584,000 and an average of 1,458,000 tuned in for the seventh and eighth weddings of the experiment.
Over on Seven, The Chase was the most watched entertainment program pulling in a reach of 1,238,000 and an average of 620,000.
For 10, it only just snuck into the top 20 with a showing of David Attenborough’s Parenthood. The show where Attenborough explores the extreme sacrifices, and strategies animal parents employ to raise their offspring raked in a reach of 713,000 and an average of 245,000.
