The Adelaide Test is in full swing, and over two and a half million people tuned into the third session of day two as England attempted to grind themselves back into the match. Australia were comprehensively in the driving seat before a gritty innings from captain Ben Stokes nudged the pendulum ever so slightly.
When Stokes entered the crease the Brits were 4-71—a very difficult position to be in when you are trailing by 300. Stokes knuckled down and by the end of the day he was unbeaten on 45 after facing 151 deliveries. A total TV national average audience of 1,311,000 was pleasantly surprised when the England captain went away from the untraditional, aggressive batting technique, that is know as Bazball and played a way more traditional defensive brand.
Nine’s ever reliable Tipping Point was the broadcasters most watched entertainment program of the evening drawing in a a total TV national reach of 1,174,000 and an average of 585,000.
Turning our attention to 10 and its most watched entertainment program of the night was a re run of the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days featuring Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey. The funny viewing raked in a reach of 545,000 and an average of 116,000—plummeting 10 to 28 in the rankings.
