Last night, A Current Affair detailed how serial babysitter killer Helen Moore, who was jailed in 1980 at the age of 18 for smothering and killing children and babies, is looking after children again in NSW.
The episode brought in a Total TV National Average Audience of 965,000 and a Total National Reach of 1,466,000.
Moore received three life sentences but only served 13 years and nine months.
It’s been revealed that since Moore’s release, the 63-year-old has been babysitting for families who had no idea of her dark past.
“We were always at each other’s houses, Christmases, birthdays,” one woman who lived next door to Moore on the NSW Central Coast said.
“(She was) there for the birth of one of my children … She was my best friend”.
The woman says Moore babysat her children and grandchildren regularly, and one of her granddaughters even slept over at Moore’s house.
“There was an incident there a few years ago where (the woman’s granddaughter) came back and was showing signs of putting her hands around (another family member’s) throat,” she said.
“She never went back after that”.
Over on Seven, English allrounder Tom Curran claimed career-best bowling figures as the Melbourne Stars locked in a BBL finals win with a six-wicket win over Adelaide.
The game brought in a Total TV National Average Audience of 597,000 and a Total National Reach of 2,116,000 for Seven.
Curran brought in 4-10 from his four overs, laying an early platform for the Stars to skittle the visitors for just 83 at the MCG on Tuesday night.
It was the third-lowest total of any BBL team at the venue and second-lowest recorded by the Strikers in the competition’s 15 seasons.
ABC’s Dr Karl’s How Things Work won a National Average Audience of 605,000.
Channel 10’s Mission Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 won a National Average Audience of 165,000.
