Over 1,000 celebrities, media, and the best TikTok creators flocked to the Hodern Pavillion last night for this epic event, streamed live on @tiktok_australia.

Hosted by Logie award winner Tony Armstrong, the annual TikTok For You Fest was an evening of celebrations, reminiscing and coming together to embrace a great year on TikTok alongside some of Australia’s most prominent creators, all donning their glad rags to best the”slay” dress code.

Guests were treated to performances from international music sensation Leah Kate, and Aussie superstars The Temper Trap, an exceptional opening performance from some of Australia’s most talented creators, including stilt walker Demi Skinner and cursed cosplayer Rhylee Passfield.

Plus a corn cook-off judged by the inimitable Matt Preston, make-up and sport challenges, commentated live by Ozzy Man Reviews, and comedy from Creator of the Year nominee, Will Gibb.

Celebrity guests in attendance included (deep breath): Australian musician G Flip, Heartbreak High star Chloe Hayden, The Wiggles, pop star Dean Lewis, singer and comedian Avneesha, electronic duo Mashd N Kutcher, TV personality Khanh Ong, reality TV stars Michael Brunelli, Bella Varelis, The Aussie Bachelors, Millie Ford, Dr. Karl, Magician Ash Magic, CoCo Deville, DimSimLim, Luke and Sassy Scott, William Gibb, Jimmy Jan, The Brother Boys, Swag On The Beat, How Ridiculous.

Special congratulations to Kat Clark who was crowned TikTok Creator of the Year 2022 in front of a raucous crowd. The superstar creator is best known to her 3.3m followers for her family vlogs and comedy videos, and recently won ‘Best Digital Creator’ at the AACTA Awards.

For the first time, TikTok also presented awards for TikTok For Good – celebrating creators who drive positive change in the TikTok community and TikTok Video of the Year – the country’s favourite video of 2022.

Jazz Thornton took home the TikTok for Good gong for using her platform to change the conversation around mental health. And Katrina Ashleigh claimed Video of the Year for having us in stitches when a hilarious tortilla challenge saw water, tortillas and people flying everywhere.

Lee Hunter, general manager of TikTok Australia and New Zealand, said:

“Creators are at the beating heart of TikTok, and it’s wonderful to be able to showcase the incredible talent that makes up our community. TikTok For You Fest allows us to bring together creators, partners and media from across ANZ to toast to another great year, and the atmosphere in the room was fantastic! Congratulations to all of the award winners, we can’t wait to see what you do next!”

Simon Bates, director of content programming at TikTok Australia and New Zealand added:

“TikTok For You Fest is our favourite night of the year as we celebrate our talented, distinctive and diverse creators on a national stage. In 2022, we laughed at new memes, saw viral songs catapult from on-platform to national radio, and propelled new talent onto a global stage, truly shaping pop culture as we know it here in Australia. Congratulations to all our winners and award nominees. I can’t wait to see what next year holds!”.

You can still catch the action via @tiktok_australia, where the live stream will replay for the next 24 hours. The show will also air on 10Peach on Saturday 17 December at 8:30pm AEDT.
